The Rules

1.      Participants are challenged to produce twelve photographs in 24 hours

2.      There will be twelve topics, issued in three sets of four during the first 12 hours at 10:00am, 2:00pm and 6:00pm (BST)

3.      You may use any camera or phone to take your image. You are responsible for providing your own kit.

4.      All the images you submit must be taken by you, in topic order, between 10:00am on day one, and 10:00am the second day. Check that your camera’s time and date settings are correct. If you are located in a different timezone, make sure your timezone is set correctly.

5.      You may edit your images before submission, but you must not edit or delete the EXIF data.

6.      All images must be submitted in JPEG format (.jpg or .jpeg extensions). If using a phone, be aware that some save in proprietary formats.

7.      Images must be submitted by 6:00pm on the second day (i.e. within 36 hours of the start of the event)

8.      Images must not be generated or substantially enhanced by AI.

9.      This event is open to photographers of all ages, so images must be suitable for all audiences. Any entry deemed to be offensive or unsuitable for a family audience will be removed.

10.  Oxford Photomarathon want you to enjoy the event safely and without hazard to others. Your safety, well-being, and your kit are your responsibility, and we are not responsible for injury or damage. Stay safe, and have fun.

11.  Copyright of all images remains with the photographer, but by participating you are deemed to have granted free licence to Oxford Photomarathon to publish your images on our website, social media (Facebook and Instagram), and printed advertising material. Images may also be displayed at exhibitions, and included in a book of the event

Awards

     We intend to hold an award ceremony in Oxford after the event, along with an exhibition.

     Awards will be made as follows:

a.      Best panel of twelve images

b.      In each topic, best image

c.      Best image of Oxford or Oxfordshire

d.      Junior photographer (16 and under) : Best Panel

    There will be prizes! Modest ones, but prizes nonetheless!
