David Fisher with camera

David Fisher

David Fisher is the founder of Fisher Studios a commercial photography studio based in Oxford. David started his career before the days of digital, shooting on film and plate cameras in the 90s and working in a darkroom until the early 2000’s when he converted to digital. Fisher Studios is now commissioned by a wide range of clients covering corporate, lifestyle, science & technology, architecture & interiors, product, portraiture, museum & theatre and much more! In David’s words:
“Business and photography are long-standing passions of mine. They brought me half way across the globe – from Queensland, Australia to Oxford – and into a fascinating career.  The business is flourishing. I have a studio, 7 employees and a healthy client list. There is a large appetite for professional photography, even in a relatively small place like Oxford. People still recognize its value, and I’m able to cater to their varied demands — here and all over the country. To sum myself up, I’m an entrepreneurial, hard-working, open-minded daydreamer. Keeping busy doing something I love – photography – is never a chore.”

Stephen Foote

Stephen was born and brought up in Oxford.  He originally trained in Photography at Plymouth College of Art at the end of the 1970’s.  As a keen amateur diver, he became involved in the underwater excavation of the Mary Rose around the same time, and ultimately became the staff photographer on that project.  After the Mary Rose was raised his career took a detour across to the world of documentary television film making.  He became a freelance cameraman in 1986 working  for broadcast companies such as the BBC, Channel 4, Discovery and National Geographic.  His work has taken him all over the world, often to remote and dangerous places and a few war zones.  He spent over twenty years working as one of the main cameramen for the BBC Panorama programme, and his work has contribute to more than one Bafta award winning documentary.  Throughout his career he has continued to take stills, and has submitted many of these to picture libraries such as Alamy.

More recently he has been teaching and mentoring photographers in Oxford, whilst continuing to build his own body of work.  He currently lives just outside Abingdon.
