Important Notice for Photomarathon Participants
Some important information for anyone who has bought a ticket. Upcoming communications you will need to receive! Please don’t ignore this!
Hi photomarathoners – I hope you have July 25th blocked out in your calendar and you’re ready for action. If you’ve got any great tips for other participants, please comment on our daily Instagram and Face book posts!
This week (June 22-29): We will send a test email to everyone’s account. Please check your spam folder to ensure it reaches you. If you do not receive an email from us, please let us know so we can fix this before the day.
Approx three weeks before the event (Monday June 29): We will email you your Competitor ID and your personal URL to upload your images. If you don’t receive this information let us know!
On the event day itself, we will be publishing the topics in three groups of four, at 10:00am BST, 2:00pm and 6:00pm. We will publish them in three ways, so hopefully everyone will be able to see them:
On our Facebook and Instagram feeds
By email directly to you
By SMS if you are in the UK or Europe. Unfortunately, our SMS provider cannot send bulk SMS to the US or Canada due to their national laws, which require a local sender ID. SMS may be delayed a few minutes by our provider due to antispam checks.
Everyone gets 24 hours to take and edit their images. Note that you can only upload to your URL, you cannot edit or delete – so if you make a mistake, just let us know via the info@oxfordphotomarathon.com and we can fix it. You have extra time to complete the upload – we know what the internet can be like!
Take your images in the order of the topics, and make sure your camera is set to your local time and date so that they display in the right order. You may edit and rename files if you wish. See our FAQ guidance here and rules here. Also, have a read through our other blogs.
For participants in Oxford city itself, come along and visit us at Greens Café Oxfordin New Inn Hall Street, and ask for the 10% discount for participants.
Save the date: On October 3rd, we will hold the awards and exhibition at Oxford Central Library. More details later.
